25 Ideas To Keep a Fulfilled Life While Social Distancing

Dear Friends and family,

First, I am so sorry that you are having to experience this unpredictable time. The feelings you have right now, the uncertainty of what is going? What will be the next step? Where well your income come from? What do you do with the kids, because you do have to work, and they are out of school?

The uncertainty of how long things will stay this way can bring on questions you did not prepare for. Who can you count on to protect you and your family? All questions every person around the world is asking right now.

There is a community that may not cross your mind that may be able to help you.

I am speaking of the community of millions of people fighting Chronic Illness.

These Warriors are well versed in social distancing. It has been our life. We have been in training for this moment. Some of us months, some years, and some decades. While we will not have every answer to your questions, we can help guide you through, because we have been here.

This staying home while time floats by is a part of Chronic Illness.

I want to be here for all of you. If you need ideas on what to do, I can help.

Here are some ways that over the years I have learned to keep my heart, mind and body focused on living a Quality of life that I can look back on and know that I am proud of.

  1. Read that book you always wanted to, (or audiobook) reading can take you to a place you have never been. A audio book is a amazing way the whole family can read a book together, while even doing daily tasks. You will be amazed how fast folding laundry goes while listening to a good book.
  2. Learn something new -you would be astonished on what I learned going to the library. You now can find a You-tube video and accomplish the goal even faster. (Learn to install cable, fix a phone jack, fix your freezer I’ve learned 2 of those at the library and one on you-tube.)
  3. Listen to a podcast – whatever you enjoy there is a podcast for it!
  4. Watch a church sermon from another church other than your home church. (I can tell you a few if you would like)
  5. Join a bible study – online bible studies are amazing and if you haven’t done one it’s a great time to try it out!
  6. Join a FB Group – there are groups from being a boy mom, to daddy with princess and everything you can think of. I am a part of over 200 groups some are for Multiple Sclerosis, Bible Study’s or shows like The Masked singer. (you have no idea how fun it is to have friends across the globe.

  10. Learn a new recipe, perfect a recipe.
  11. Teach a child a family recipe.

Coloring for the entire family – the sky is the limit stick to the rules or make a game of it and each person color a spot with a timer and switch.                                                                                                                                                         (How many of you have ever crumbled a plain piece of paper then colored between the lines? This use to be my favorite coloring activity)

  19. Take an online class – this is one of my favorite things to do.
  20. Watch old home movies – we record them and forget to watch them it’s a great time to do that. You cannot fight with your family when your laughing at the past.

The most valuable thing you can do, is do something. When you look back at this time what word would you use to describe it.

I have learned that where I focus my Fear, I lose my faith. Where I focus my Faith, I gain Freedom. I would love to be the light that helped you focus on the Freedom’s you have rather then the fear of what you do not.
